New World, the best MMO I have ever played
I'm someone who has played a lot of MMOs over the years. But New World was different.
I don't know how to explain it better than this: it was the game where you didn't feel like you were wasting time — you felt like you were investing it. Every session counted.
What drew me to New World
The graphics were incredible for an MMO. The world felt alive, not like a backdrop. The combat system was based on real skill — not clicks and stats, but timing, positioning and reaction. You felt like it was you playing, not your character.
I went with Bow and Spear. That combination fit me perfectly — polearm for control and damage, bow for range and mobility. I took it to end-game every time.
What I loved most
The progression. Not the level-up kind, but the real kind — feeling like you're better today than you were yesterday. New World rewarded time and dedication without forcing you to pay to advance. It was fair.
And the community. I was part of groups where we attacked territories, defended positions, planned strategies. Those moments you don't forget.
When Amazon shut it down
It was bad news. Amazon announced they were closing the game and that was it — an entire universe where I'd invested hundreds of hours just disappeared. It's a feeling every gamer understands.
But I don't regret a thing. New World remains the best MMO I have ever played and it probably always will be. If Amazon ever brings it back, or someone makes something similar, I'll be first in line.
